The Langdons of Long Island, New York & Related Families
This site is dedicated to sharing historical and genealogical
information on the Langdon Family of Long Island, New York (and
related families). The site is currently under construction. Check
back for updates. We plan on posting updates at least on a
quarterly basis.
Our immigrant ancestor, Thomas Langdon, came from England to
the colonies in the 1640s, and resided in New Haven, Milford, and
Derby, Connecticut, later removing to Hempstead, Long Island,
New York. While some have speculated that Thomas was first in
Lynn, Massachusetts prior to moving to New Haven, Connecticut,
this link has yet to be proven. Thomas and his wife, Isabella, were
colorful characters. Their descendants range from former U.S.
Presidents and Congressmen to business owners, professors,
professionals, and tradesmen.
